The recruiting scene....Burke boasted offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Purdue and NC State. The talented signal-caller made a one day visit to NC State over the summer and that played a big part in Burke ultimately choosing NC State over Louisville. His relationship with Marc Trestman was also a major factor.
Scouting Report...Burke has the exact skill-set that should mesh well with Marc Trestman's offense. Burke is defined by his intelligence, knowledge of the game and decision making. He knows where to go with the ball within the framework of the offense and based on what the defense is giving him and that is an intangible that would be invaluable to the NC State offense. While he doesn't possess a cannon, he is extremely accurate, with great touch- particularly in the short passing game. He is also extremely effective in the medium passing game as well. Burke is mobile and moves his feet well which often buys him time in the pocket but also has the ability to break down and pick up yards on the run.
