Name: Emanuel Davis
Hometown: Manteo, North Carolina
High School: Manteo High School
NOTES: As a junior, Davis garnered Albemarle Conference Player of the Year honors in football and basketball, as he led Manteo to the regional finals in both sports.
Davis rushed for over 1,200 yards playing quarterback for the Redskins. An all-state selection as an athlete, Davis projects as a safety on the next level because of his athletic ability and toughness. In last year's playoff loss to Northampton-West, Davis suffered a broken nose but bandaged up the injury and returned to finish the game.
COACH QUOTE: "No fear. He has none. He's probably one of the two or three kids I've coached in 29 years that's had zero fear. He enjoys contact. He's very physical and has tremendous athletic ability. I think his versatility is his greatest asset." -- Manteo head coach Walt Davis
SCOUTING REPORT: "At 5-11, 185 pounds, Emanuel Davis from Manteo (NC) High School is one of the state's top athletes for the class of 2007. Although he took most of his snaps at QB for the Redskins, Davis excelled during his time at defensive back as well. This talented player has extremely quick feet, plays aggressive and isn't afraid to hit. His strongest asset is his speed and that allows him to track down ball-carriers and shut down pass receivers. With the ball in his hands he was electrifying at times with the ability to explode through gaps and outrun defenders to the endzone. Davis will most likely project as a cornerback or safety on the next level and will attract major college interest this year before all is said and done." -- Pack Pride Recruiting Analyst Steve Williams
