Web Run: Wolfpack's future starts Friday

Crazier things have happened, but N.C. State could make a run in the NCAA tournament. But it won't likely change the tone of its fans. The Wolfpack has been positively brutal of late, and by the time it tips off Friday night, State (21-9) will have gone 27 days without tasting victory.

Richard Midgley says he barely recalls the details of his gamewinning shot three years ago that sent North Carolina State out of the NCAA Tournament. While Midgley, now a senior for California, doesn't want to provide the Wolfpack any ammunition for a revenge factor, his play produced the result the last time the Bears won an NCAA Tournament game. State coach Herb Sendek said in refusing to compare the 2003 teams to this year's versions. "Our personnel has changed tremendously. We have different chemistry. Both teams have changed."
