Pack Pursuing Florida Safety

NC State has targeted one of the top defensive backs in Florida but may have some ground to make up if they hope to become a serious contender for his commitment in 2007.

One of the most athletic secondary prospects in the state of Florida is being heavily pursued by NC State. The Pack has some ground to make up, so will the staff continue to make a push?

Strong safety Charleston Sinclair, a 6-1, 190-pound prospect from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida has a top five, and NC State isn't in it yet.

"My favorites are Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Georgia and Florida State," said Sinclair. "That's in the right order too. Florida is number one right now, and South Carolina is probably number two."

Who else is in the mix?

"Outside of my favorites, I'm still hearing from schools like NC State, North Carolina, South Florida and a few others. Things could change, but right now I'm not quite as high on those schools."

Surprisingly, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Ole Miss have offered Sinclair, but the Wolfpack hasn't.

Sinclair led Mandarin to a birth in the playoffs last year, but they lost in the first round. As a junior he recorded 135 tackles, 14 sacks and two interceptions.
