Pack Pride's Five Freshmen of Influence

Forget analysts and recruiting rankings, here's the five newcomers we're most excited about and feel have the potential to make a huge splash at NC State before their careers are over.

-QB Justin Burke...smart, heady and a winner. Will need to time to mature physically and adjust to the speed of the game but should be ready by the time Marcus Stone graduates.

Carlos Everett

-DE Audi Augustine...Coach Todd Stroud knows a thing or two about defensive ends. He made Augustin a priority from day one and never backed off. Augustin has all the necessary physical tools and should be a major force down the road.

-PK Josh Czajkowski...kickers don't get a lot of pub but Czajkowski isn't like most kickers. He'll likely watch and learn behind Deraney this year but the reins may very well be handed over to him in 2007.

-DB Jevon Walker...One coach told us Walker may have as much upside as any prospect signed by NC State. The fact that he has played so grossly out of position in high school makes him very intriguing at the very least.

-WR Carlos Everett...Everett has the genes and is a playmaker. Not necessarily a game-breaker but could become a reliable, every down wide receiver for NC State in the years to come.
