Offensive lineman Kyle Fischer has a lot of room for growth and his stock has been steadily rising in recent weeks.
The 6-6, 270-pound offensive lineman from Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina currently holds offers from NC State, Vanderbilt and East Carolina, and he's beginning to receive more attention.
"The three schools that have offered are recruiting me real hard. They all think I have a lot of room to get stronger and improve. I'm starting to hear from Georgia too, so it's been exciting lately."
Fischer doesn't have great speed, but has solid coordination for a prospect his height. He was at NC State recently and took in the Pack's spring game.
"I had a great time up there," said Fischer. "It was just a good experience overall. I got to talk to all the coaches. I really like their academics, and I think the football program is progressing. They had already offered me, so I was really interested. It was nice to see the place up close."
Academics will be the main factor in Fischer's decision, but he also wants to play for a solid program. He was quoted recently as saying NC State and Vanderbilt are his two favorites. Is that the case?
"No, not exactly," said Fischer. "I'm not ready to start commenting on favorites or anything like that. I just want to wait a while and see what schools are interested. Maybe I'll get some new offers. I want to know all my options before I start putting one school ahead of another. But of the schools that have shown a lot of interest so far, NC State and Vanderbilt are at the top."
Fischer graded at 90-percent as an offensive lineman last year for Spring Valley. Most schools are looking at him as an offensive tackle with his long arms and size.
