Junior to Watch: Micah Grimes

OL Micah Grimes has picked up three early offers and will likely land several more before all is said and done.

NC State landed just one offensive lineman in the class of 2006 so it's safe to say a premium will be placed on landing the big-uglys in 2007. One prospect State is likely to keep a close eye on is OL Micah Grimes. The talented lineman racked up 80 pancake blocks and 179 knockdowns as a junior en route to all-state first team and all-county honors. Grimes has been Mr Consistency as well as he's started 31 consecutive games and played in two state championships.

What Grimes is looking for in a future college- "I'm looking for a good education and atmosphere. I want to play with a team that wants to work to win and coaches that will push me to be my best while still understanding me as a person, not a number."

Camps this summer- Florida, South Florida and Alabama

Top 5 schools- "No. 1 would be the Gators. Miami and Auburn are two and three...it's really a tossup since it's so early and then USF and Georgia. I'm also interested in NC State, South Carolina, Alabama and others."

Thoughts on NC State- "I like coach Amato. He seems like a coach I would like. NC State is definitely up there in my choice of colleges. I am very open to many colleges because I want to go to the best place for me. There are a lot of players from Florida at NC State so I know I would have common ground with a lot of guys up there."
