Pack Offers Rouse

Kevin Rouse, a 6-foot, 220-pound, linebacker, from Joliet (Ill.) Catholic, ran a 4.6 forty yard dash this past January and he bettered that time in Iowa City this past Saturday with a 4.58. Rouse is one of the top prospects in the Midwest. He landed offer No. 7 this evening.

"I just got off the phone with Dick Portee at North Carolina State," Kevin Rouse told

"Coach Portee told me that North Carolina State was excited to offer me a scholarship and that my letter is in the mail. Coach Portee also told me that he'll be up at my school in a few weeks.

"North Carolina State just recently got in the picture. I started to talk to them a little bit and they became a lot more interested in the past few weeks.

"Coach Amato, Coach Dunlap (linebackers) and Coach Portee all watched my film and liked it a lot. When they saw that I ran a 4.58 in Iowa City, they decided to offer.

"My favorites are in no order, the schools that have offered me, Northwestern, Colorado State, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa State and North Carolina State."

Rouse led the Hilltoppers with 90 tackles and 25 tackles for loss as a junior.
