New York Daily News: NC State Releases Davis

"Getting Davis' release became a tug-of-war in the final days. The Wolfpack has a contract to play the Pirates at Meadowlands Arena this season and was looking to either avoid the game entirely or, perhaps, push it into the 2007-08 season.

The respective athletic directors - Joe Quinlan of Seton Hall and Lee Fowler of N.C. State - spoke yesterday to resolve the matter. Not only will Larry Davis get his release, the game still will be played."
