With the 2006 NFL draft now passed, the staff at Pack Pride will take a draft-like look at the prospects NC State is targeting for the class of 2007. We have researched the recruiting needs for the class of 2007 and the early names the Pack has targeted to meet those needs. We compiled all the information and came up with, who we believe to be, 20 of the most important recruits for 2007. We've ranked them in order based on talent and the Wolfpack's need at each position and will work backwards from No. 20 to No. 1. As always, the info provided in this report is solely the opinion of the staff at Pack Pride and is in no way connected with any actual recruiting board of the coaching staff at NC State. Today we highlight our pick for the Pack's 15th selection.
Pack Pride's pick as the No. 15 selection in the 2006 mock draft is... OL Kyle Nunn
6-6, 280 pounds, 5.06-seconds in the 40
Sumter (SC) High School
Scouting report: Kyle Nunn is a player with a great frame and what most impresses us is his tenacity and work ethic. What he lacks in speed and quickness he makes up for with hustle and determination. Has worked his backside off this spring and early summer to impress college coaches and it is somewhat surprising that NC State is his lone offer. Has good fundamentals and will be a solid D-1 lineman down the road.
The lowdown: Well, there's little secret that State was the first to offer but Nunn hasn't been content on sit on just that. He has attended or will attend camps at Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia. The Pack has been a favorite and they will obviously try to sell the fact that they were the first to offer. Nunn will reportedly make an unofficial visit to State over the summer.
Nunn Quote on NC State: "Their football program is really growing. They're doing a lot of construction and everything looks new. I got to spend some time at the Murphy Center and the weight room was really nice. I liked everything about it.
"I got to spend some time with coach Amato, and he was a nice guy. He told me they wanted me to come back for some games this year, and he hoped they would get one of my official visits. I told him they definitely would."
