ABCD Camp: Wolfpack Targets

Several potential NC State targets took the court on the final day of the ABCD Camp. Pack Pride's Evan Daniels was on the scene, and he has the latest on Tracy Smith, J.J. Hickson, and Anthony McClain.

Tracy Smith – PF – 2007 - One of the best surprises of camp was how well Tracy Smith played all week. While I only got to see him the last two days of camp, it was obvious that Smith has transformed his body and is playing the best basketball of his career. His now slim body allows him to be much more mobile, and he has the ability to drive around post players that he pulls out to the perimeter. Smith was very impressive in the Senior All-Star game where he scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. For the week he averaged 12.6 points and five rebounds a game.

J.J. Hickson – PF – 2007 – This 6-8 post player from Atlanta, GA., was hyped up by the media prior to this spring and after a so-so spring he picked it up at the ABCD Camp. Hickson got up and down the floor well and threw his body around in the paint. He used his strength to get positioning, and he score more often times than not when he got it on the block. Hickson was active all camp and he continued his strong play in the Senior All-Star game where he finished with 22 point and eight boards. On the week he averaged 11.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Anthony McClain – C – 2007 – Every time I watch him I think he adds a little more to this game. This week at ABCD Camp he ran the court well and got his hands on some rebounds and some shot attempts. He stands nearly 7-feet tall and is quite an imposing figure. While his numbers weren't great he had a solid week at camp, and he is a force on the defensive end. He averaged 5.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
