Fleming Nearing a Decision

Highland Springs (VA) cornerback C.J. Fleming wants to have a decision before his senior season.

Cornerback C.J. Fleming has already taken an unofficial visit to NC State and he liked what he saw. With a decision scheduled for before the school year, his upcoming visits could determine a lot.

The 5-11, 172-pound defensive back from Highland Springs, VA is planning on taking unofficial visits to West Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia in the near future.

"I'm going to start visiting those schools on Monday (July 31)," said Fleming. "I'm just going to go from one school to another and do it all at once. I've already visited a few schools and I want to see all that I can before I make my decision. I plan on announcing something before the season, so I have to do a lot now."

Not too long ago Fleming was in Raleigh checking out what NC State has to offer. What did he think of the experience?

"That was one of the nicer schools I've seen," he said. "I like the atmosphere at the school and around the football program. I've talked to Coach Amato and Coach (Greg) Williams a lot and get along with them well.

"I know they do a good job of putting defensive players into the NFL. I also really like some of the formations they run on defense. Sometimes they'll put seven or eight defensive backs out there, so you know the playing time is going to be available."

In addition to NC State, West Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia, Fleming is considering offers from North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and others. He plans on making his decision not long after his unofficial visits scheduled for next week.

Fleming is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com and is widely regarded as one of the most athletic cornerback prospects in the Class of 2007.
