Pack Makes Final Cut for Morgan

Penn State was an obvious choice since Derrick Morgan announced last week that he would be taking an official visit to Happy Valley. The question is who were the final four teams that would dot his list? Scout.com has the answer for you.

Coatesville, Pa., defensive end Derrick Morgan informed us late last week that he has scheduled an official visit to Penn State on Oct. 14. The talented 6-foot-4, 260-pound four-star prospect has since set one more visit and named his five finalists.

"My final five are Penn State, Miami, North Carolina State, Ohio State and Boston College," Morgan said. "I set my second visit for Nov. 4 at NC State when they play Georgia Tech."

When asked how he came to those five, Morgan's thoughts were simple and well explained.

"I woke up with those five in my mind," Morgan said. "I thought about it and I prayed about it. Elliot Lightfoot from Valley Forge has been helping me through the process and I confided in him about it. He has been helping me and he is the one who put my highlight film together for me."

Morgan recorded ten sacks as a junior. He was named first team All-League, he was selected as the most outstanding defensive lineman in his league. He was also named first team All-Area and second team All-Southeastern PA Philadelphia Inquirer.

He should have no problems qualifying academically as he reports a 3.8 GPA and a 1480 on his SAT.
