DT Curtis Bryant from South Miami (Fla) High School helped get his team off to a successful start this past Saturday with a 21-7 win over Krop High School. Lining up primarily as an offensive guard, Bryant, 6-2, 270 pounds, also spent time at defensive tackle as well as kickoff and punt returns. During limited snaps at defensive tackle, he recorded two tackles and a pass deflection that resulted in an interception. Bryant and his South Miami squad now get ready for rival Killian High School next weekend.
On the recruiting front, the senior lineman has added an offer from Memphis to go along with offers from NC State and South Florida. Bryant has formulated a top three with the Wolfpack still leading the field.
"My top schools right now are NC State, South Florida and Florida State," said Bryant.
"State's still out front. I've been talking with my family and they think it's the best choice for me. Right now, I'm kind of waiting for my coach's opinion to see what he thinks but I'll probably decide something by December. I know with State, I think they really want me to go ahead and commit."
Bryant has yet to set up any official visits but should be doing that in the near future. He camped at NC State over the summer and is being recruited by Wolfpack defensive line coach Todd Stroud.
