No Commitment From Green

Rashad Green's recruiting process has turned out to be an interesting story for sure. Reporter Mike Sullivan of's High School New York/New Jersey website had a chance to speak to New York Panthers program director Gary Charles about Green's situation ...

Over the past two weeks it appeared that Rashad Green was officially set to be part of the North Carolina State program. It was last week when this site first reported that Green was ready to give a commitment to the ACC program. Then program director Gary Charles said Green was not just yet ready to make it official.

The key word is "official." Green appears anxious to give a commitment to North Carolina State. However, according to Charles, some aspects of the recruiting process need to be ironed out before Green does anything officially.

"As far as I know after speaking to Rashad, there's no commitment," Charles said. "Rashad likes North Carolina State a lot. But there are some things the family needs to discuss."

Green, who played last season at St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, is an athletic 6-foot-3 lefty guard who is bouncy and energetic. He previously told us last week he was excited about going to NC State before the commitment was later put on hold.

Rashad will attend Bridgton Academy in Maine this upcoming Fall. "I think what has to happen is for the coaches from NC State sit down with Rashad and his family during the contact period," Charles said. "That way everyone can get on the same page."
