Jamar Jackson, a 3-star standout linebacker/defensive end for Varina (VA), has narrowed his list of schools to five. This weekend, Jackson, will take the first of his five official visits.
"I'm going to Louisville this weekend," said Jackson, who will arrive there on Saturday. "I'm going to BC next weekend. I'm going to N.C. State on the 23rd [of September]. I'm going to set up two more visits - to Clemson and to Virginia Tech.
"These schools are my top five. This is the final five. I like all of them. Right now, they are even. I'm going to take my time and see what these schools are like."
Jackson, who has offers from all five schools, has reason to be excited about how his stock has risen so significantly since the end of last season.
"I'm happy," Jackson said of the offers he has received. "When Virginia Tech offered, that was one I was looking for. The offer from Boston College surprised me. So did the Clemson offer."
Jackson, who will play linebacker/defensive end for the Blue Devils, is feeling good heading into his senior season. Varina's season opener is tonight against Gar-Field.
"I'm much bigger and I still have my normal speed," Jackson said. "I'm 6-4, 230 pounds. I've just gotten better. I feel more confident and I feel more comfortable."
