N.C. State sees 1-AA champs as legitimate threat

Over the last four years, Division I-AA opponents have served as a grade inflator for N.C. State's overall report card. The Wolfpack has played five games against teams from the NCAA's smaller classification since 2002, the most of any team in the ACC. Winning all of those mismatches has helped the program post a 31-19 record over that time span. Read More

More seats, less tailgating await Pack football fans

The football season that opens today will bring a new experience for N.C. State University fans, with new seats and a stricter enforcement of tailgating rules altering the look and feel of games at Carter-Finley Stadium. The stadium, opened in 1966, has undergone nearly a complete makeover in recent years, all the better to impress recruits and give it more of a big-time atmosphere. This season, there are 7,100 new seats in the north end zone, which completes the lower bowl. The stadium now seats 57,082 fans. Read More
