August 7, 2002: David Green Jr. had his day at NC State on Monday and he now has a working plan in place. "I'm going to Nash Community here in town to take an English and a Science class. If things go well this fall, I should be able to transfer into NC State for the spring semester."

David also had time to check out the football program while he was at State. "I met with the coaches and was able to watch the practice. I love that program. The facilities are great and the coaches are the best."

David was accompanied by his father to Raleigh.

August 2, 2002: The recruitment of David Green Jr. by NC State has been overshadowed by the recruiting process surrounding his brother Chad. We at TSW wanted shed some light on brother David, so hopefully we can make clear some hazy details that surround him.

David is a nineteen year old WR (6'1" 180 4.55 40) who graduated from Northern Nash in 2001. He attended Elizabeth City State for the 2001/02 calender year. He sat out of football for the year because he knew he would be transferring. According to David he is eligible to play four years at any D-1 school starting this fall. Even though he is eligible, he says he may elect to wait till the spring to enroll because of the short amount of time between now and the start of classes in the fall.

We asked David about his college choices. "I am looking at ECU and NC State" said David, "I am talking to both about walking on with a chance to earn a scholarship. I am scheduled to visit NC State on Monday (July 5th), and I hope to find out if I am accepted then."

David's route to a NC State visit has been a long one. He first was recruited by Mike O'Cain. He attended the State camp in his Junior year and had a great time. Now, the situation has come full circle to the possibility of him playing for Chuck Amato and the Wolfpack.

There also has been much chatter about David and his brother Chad wanting to play at the same school. Some reports have said that may not be the case. We asked David to clear up these reports. "We would like to play on the same team."

David says his strengths are he runs very crisp routes and has a lot of discipline in his game. He also intends to continue his major in Business once he decides on a school.
