Monday PC: Blackman, Heath Meet The Media

RALEIGH, NC -- NC State players Darrell Blackman and Garland Heath met with the media today to discuss Southern Mississippi.

Darrell Blackman (10:20)

"We can't dwell on it. It was a tough game and towards the end things didn't go our way."

"That's putting in jeopardy what we've got to do for the remainder of the season."

"We've got to improve on getting the first down and keeping the ball in our hands."

"He started to have a lot more pep in his step in controlling the offense when we went to the no-huddle."

Garland Heath (10:03)

"Akron is a disappointing loss. We've just got to play harder and learn how to start faster instead of finishing hard."

"I really haven't got over it yet, but it's something that I've got to make myself do in order to go on and play Southern Miss."

"Fatigue was not a factor."

"I think the defense is not playing the way that we've shown that we can play the past two years. This is one of the worst losses that we've had in the past two years."

"I'm pretty sure that today we'll figure out what they do more of. I expect those guys to do like every other team and come out and try to run at us. We've got to show that we can stop the run, and we can stop the pass."
