Brown Ready for Southern Miss

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State tailback Andre Brown is focused solely on Southern Mississippi, the team he had his breakout performance against in 2005. The talented sophomore met with the media following yesterday's practice to discuss his health and the game.

ANDRE BROWN AUDIO (4:52)

Are you now 100%?
Yea, I'm back. It's feeling fine. It was just a little bruise. I've been going to treatment. I practice full speed today. I'm okay. I'm ready to go.

Are you looking to replicate your success from last year?
Different team, different year. Going into the game I want to do good. Hopefully I will do good. We're going to go down there. Somebody has to pay for what happened here last week, so unfortunately it's Southern Miss.

You mentioned someone has to pay. Is that the attitude the team is taking going into this game?
Yes, we have to. Somebody has to pay. That was a heartbreaker out there. We're out here working hard, so we can go out there to Mississippi and beat somebody up.

Was the injury on the first play of the game?
Yea, the first play of the game. I think it just buckled, and I got hit in it too. It didn't feel right when I came off of it.

How disappointing was it not to be able to play?
It hurt. I was sitting there running up-and-down the sidelines. I got a penalty for it. I was sitting there cheering them guys on. It was hurting. I was just supporting those guys. I just became the biggest cheerleader out there.

What do you expect to see from them defensively?
To be honest with you, with what all is going on I haven't seen film yet. I have my film up stairs now so I haven't really seen them yet... because of what happened at the Murphy Center.
