Defensive tackle Bud Tribbey has always been a fan of the Wolfpack football program. While NC State has not offered yet they could see their standing rise significantly should they choose to do so.
"I'm just looking at Syracuse, Virginia Tech and NC State," said Tribbey. "I've pretty much narrowed it down to those three. I have offers from Syracuse and Tech, but I don't have one from NC State right now. They're about even but State would definitely be pretty high if they offered me."
The 6-1, 280-pound defensive lineman from Richmond (Va.) Varina has helped his squad to a 3-1 start early in his senior campaign.
"I've been playing on both sides of the ball, but I'm just being recruited as a defensive tackle for the most part. I probably get two series a game on offense, but I'm best at defensive tackle."
Tribbey plans on taking an official visit to Blacksburg this weekend for the Hokies' game against conference foe Georgia Tech. While he does not have any other visits planned, he said he would make trips to Syracuse and NC State. What does he like about each school?
"I like the tradition at Syracuse. They've had some great teams in the past and they're trying to get back to that. I get along real well with their coaching staff.
"Virginia Tech has a great strength and conditioning program. It's an in-state school and they have a real good program. I like their coaches too.
"The coaches at NC State are good too. I like the environment down there. North Carolina seems like a good place to be. I guess I've always liked the Wolfpack, but especially since my old teammate Alan-Michael Cash has been down there."
Tribbey thrives on his strength and has shown a great work ethic throughout his high school days. He is a two-star prospect according to Scout.com and may receive several more offers before the recruiting process is done.
