ESPN analyst Dr. Jerry Punch reported during the game that Martin would likely miss the rest of the season with the injury. Martin, a redshirt junior from Pompano Beach, Florida, was scheduled to have surgery yesterday.
Through four games, Martin had tallied 15 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks as the Wolfpack's starting strongside linebacker.
Redshirt junior linebacker LeRue Rumph is expected to take over the starting role in Martin's place. Rumph started nine games last season at strongside linebacker and had been platooning with Martin at the position. He recorded eight tackles and a pass breakup while filling in for Martin against Boston College.
Martin, a converted defensive end, entered the season with three career starts and 34 total tackles with four tackles for loss and a sack.
