"I thought we did a pretty good job. I thought both groups executed their stuff pretty well. A couple of times we got a little impatient with it, but when we executed we got good looks at the basket and knocked down some shots."
What is the story with Engin Atsur's injury?
"Actually we just wanted to rest him a little bit. It was a little sore. We just wanted to take some precaution. As we get closer to the exhibition game and we'll take a look then and see how it feels."
"He didn't want to come out, but I told him to sit out of practice a couple of days just to be sure."
Has it been diagnosed yet?
"It's a sore achilles... that's what it is. Like I said, he's had this the last few years really."
Thoughts on Ben McCauley's play:
"I thought he played very well. He made some very nice moves in there. He made a couple of nice passes when the guys were cutting... posted up strong. He did a nice job for us.
"That's Ben. He's always going to play hard, but he gives us a presence in there."
Thoughts on Dennis Horner's play:
"I thought Dennis did a great job. He's such an intelligent player in terms of reading situations, reading screens, and reading the options on a play. He did a nice job with a couple of ball fakes he did on some of our handoffs.
"I thought he did great, especially for his first time out."
Thoughts on his first night out as NC State's head coach:
"It's a great feeling. It's been a long time since I've been on the floor competing in a Wolfpack capacity. The atmosphere was great, as it always is here. It was good to be in the gym and have our fans there."
Thoughts on the play of Courtney Fells:
"Very pleased with him, and it's what I expect from him. He and I, we talk all the time about trying to be the best player on the floor. Just be the best player on the floor. There are a lot of guys that can't do that, and the ones that can, try to take advantage of that. He has the athleticism and the ability to do a lot out there.
"He and I just talk about not wasting it. Every second just go hard and try to be the best player on the floor. That doesn't mean just shooting the basketball. That means defending, rebounding, go make a pass, executing whatever we call. He did a great job tonight."
