Former UNC commit William Brimfield has scheduled four official visits. Where is the Neeses (S.C.) Hunter-Kinard-Tyler prospect going?
"My first visit is going to be to North Carolina State on Dec. 1," said Brimfield. "I'll be there for three days. After that it will be a while until my next visit. I'll go to Tennessee on January 12 then the next week I'll be visiting UNC."
In addition to those three schools Brimfield is considering South Carolina. He will soon schedule an official visit to Columbia.
"Those four schools are about even right now. I'm not looking at any other schools, so that will make things a little easier for me."
Brimfield's senior season ended recently and on the year the 6-6, 288-pound defensive tackle racked up 80 tackles and 12 sacks. He also forced five fumbles and recovered three.
After receiving news that John Bunting was fired at North Carolina, Brimfield re-opened his recruitment. He kept the Tar Heels on his short list and will get a chance to speak with new head coach Butch Davis in the near future. Does he have any early thoughts on the former Miami coach?
"Personally I don't know too much about him. I don't know who he is, and I'm going to have to find that out for myself. I've heard from some people that he's a good coach, but that's about all I know. I'm going to need to talk to him myself to get a feel for things."
Where does the Pack stand with Brimfield?
"I haven't been to NC State, yet but I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I hear they have great facilities, and I know Chuck Amato is a great coach. Everybody loves him. I'll know more about them and the others after I take my visits."
Brimfield is rated three-stars by Scout.com and ranked the No. 63 defensive tackle in the nation.
