Fayetteville (NC) Jack Britt wing C.J. Williams will announce his decision today at a press conference at his high school.
"C.J. will be announcing at 4 o'clock," said Jack Britt head coach Ike Walker. "He's going to make his verbal commitment at that time at a press conference in our media center."
Williams is expected to remain in the ACC, and NC State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech appear to be his top three schools. However, a few others have already extended offers to the 2008 prospect.
"NC State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, Miami and East Carolina," said coach Walker. "All of those colleges have offered C.J. a scholarship. Wake Forest has been in-and-out, and Carolina has called on a couple of occasions, but that has has just been more inquiry. They haven't been down to the school."
Williams is a 6-foot-5 wing and a major priority for NC State. He has already been to both Wolfpack games this season, and he appears to be their top target in the class. He has the ability to create off the dribble, and he can score in a variety of ways.
"C.J. is very, very good," said coach Walker. "His ballhandling has really improved, and he sees things before they happen. Sometimes he is even ahead of his teammates in terms of passing the basketball. He's physically stronger, his skills are sharper... he's just better than he was last year.
"He'll primarily be a wing player, but he could play all five positions for us this year. We will have him on the wing, but we are going to use him some in the post as well."
Williams tallied 23 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, four blocks, and two assists in his season opener.
