RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Sidney Lowe met the media following the loss to Alabama.

"I thought that we came out in the first half and didn't play obviously the way that we wanted to. It was more on the offensive end than the defensive end. I felt that we were very impatient in our offense, and we didn't take care of the basketball."

"They executed their stuff and got it inside."

"I think that was because of our defensive pressure, which I think was a direct result of Trevor Ferguson coming into the game and picking up the tempo of the game. That ignited us a little bit and got us going on the offensive end."

"He picked up and pressured the ball and was very active... he did a tremendous job playing, especially for his first time out."

"I just thought our guys didn't give up. We didn't quit, we fought, and we got back in it."

"They are a tough ball club. They pound you inside and go to the offensive boards."

"I thought our bigs were good, both Ben and Brandon... I don't think we exploited them as much as we should have later in that ballgame but we took a couple of questionable shots."

"I was proud of our guys."

"We were right there... we had a chance."

"I really never thought we were totally out of it. If I'm sitting there thinking we're out of it then I know what my team is going to think."

"I thought it was a great job of our guys not quitting."
