"One of the cornerstones of championship football is a solid strength and conditioning program," said O'Brien. "Todd did an excellent job for us at Boston College and with the wonderful facilities that we have to work with at NC State, I know he will help us reach our goal of making our student-athletes champions in the classroom, the community and the football field."
Before joining the BC staff in 2002, Rice spent four years as the head strength and conditioning coach at University of California-Berkeley. At Cal, he and his four assistants directed the strength and conditioning program for 27 sports.
Prior to his stint at UC-Berkeley, Rice spent three years in the same position at Yale. He has also worked on the staffs at Illinois, Wisconsin, Ball State and the San Francisco 49ers.
A 1987 graduate of Wisconsin-Platteville, Rice earned a master's degree in kinesiology from Illinois in 1993.
