ESPN.com: Nuggets dealing Boykins, Hodge to Bucks for Blake

According to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, the Denver Nuggets have traded Earl Boykins and Julius Hodge to the Milwaukee Bucks for Steve Blake.

"The Denver Nuggets need some breathing space from luxury-tax territory," Stein wrote. "The Milwaukee Bucks need backcourt scoring to counter their injury crisis.

"That's why the teams, according to NBA front-office sources, are combining on a trade featuring Earl Boykins that will be announced later Thursday."

In four games this season, Hodge made one start and he was averaging 1.5 points and 2.5 assists in nine minutes per game. The 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard had been called up by the Nuggets from the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League on January 2nd.

In nine games with the 14ers, Hodge averaged 12.1 points, 6.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 23.0 minutes. He was assigned to Colorado on Dec. 1 and ranked third in the D-League in assists per game.

Hodge was selected with the 20th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Nuggets. Hodge saw action in 14 games as a rookie, averaging 0.9 ppg and 0.5 rpg in 2.4 minutes.
