NC State made it two for two this weekend as the Pack picked up a verbal commitments from DT Wayne Crawford. He was joined later in the day by LB Audie Cole from Monroe (MI) High School who also pledged to the Wolfpack upon returning home from his official visit.
"I'm now committed to NC State," said Cole. "Me and my parents talked about it during the flight back home and decided that's where I want to be. I called coach Bridge and told him and I'm going to call coach O'Brien in just a minute. Coach Bridge was really excited. He was yelling and screaming and glad I committed."
Cole, at 6-5, 215 pounds, originally committed to Central Michigan but decided to give the Wolfpack a look after Tom O'Brien was hired as the new head coach at NC State.
During his three years as a starter, Cole threw for 3,285 yards and 23 touchdowns and was named all-league for his work as a QB and DB this past season.
Pack Pride will have a full report on Cole's commitment tomorrow.
