Monroe (MI) High School
Prospect Ranking: Two-star prospect according to Scout.com, No. 148 QB in the nation by ESPN
Accomplishments: Timed as low as 4.6-seconds in the 40 yard dash, Cole made his mark for Monroe as a QB. During his three years as the starting QB, Cole threw for 3,285 yards and 23 touchdowns. This season he was named all-region for his play at quarterback and as a defensive back.
Academics: Cole projects as an academic qualifier.
The Recruiting Scene: Cole originally committed to Central Michigan but started to look around when CMU's head coach bolted to Cincinnati. Some thought NC State's desire to recruit Cole as a LB may have been a detriment but it worked out in the Pack's favor that most of the major D-1 schools that had recruited him prior to his commitment to Central Michigan told him that he likely projected better on defense. Cole wasted no time committing to NC State after his official visit to Raleigh in January.
Scouting Report: "Cole is something of a wildcard for the NC State coaching staff. Most of his career was spent at QB although he did win all-league honors this past year for his work as a safety. What stands out with Cole is his long frame and ability to run. He was known primarily as a running QB and displayed tremendous toughness and grind-it-out attitude- a couple of qualities that should serve him well as he acclimates to the NC State linebacking corps." -- Pack Pride Recruiting Analyst Steve Williams
