Academics: Crawford projects as an academic qualifier.
The Recruiting Scene: Crawford committed to Boston College in November and it seemed as though he might stick with BC even after O'Brien left. Two months later, he switched his verbal to NC State. He had received interest from Penn State, West Virginia, Maryland and Rutgers among others.
Scouting Report: Crawford isn't the quickest defensive tackle to sign with NC State in recent years, but because of his great strength and work ethic he should be a tremendous asset. Crawford has solid mobility and his explosiveness off the snap is one of his greatest assets. He suffered a meniscus injury last summer but had a full recovery. Crawford is also a great student and his character has drawn praise. He could play on either side of the ball for the Pack.
