After securing an early offer from East Carolina, Wilmington (NC) New Hanover offensive lineman Nick Becton picked up his first ACC offer last week.

According to New Hanover head coach Kevin Motsinger, the NC State Wolfpack extended a scholarship offer to Becton after the 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect visited Raleigh for the Wolfpack's Junior Day.

"Nick now has offers from NC State and East Carolina," said Motsinger. "NC State offered either Monday or Tuesday after he got back from their Junior Day.

"He's going to Clemson here in a few weeks, and I feel like they are going to offer him too. He's a big-time player, and I think a lot of schools are going to jump on him before it's all over with."

Becton will attend the Richmond County Shrine Bowl combine and the Scout.com combine this spring. He will now focus on football after helping lead New Hanover to the state 4A basketball title.
