Last weekend athlete Christian Wilson took an unofficial visit to NC State. What were his impressions of the school?
"I had a really nice time," said Wilson, a 6-3, 225 pound versatile athlete from Montour High School in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. "I got to talk to some of the coaches and we got along really well.
"We didn't really check out the academics at the school too much, but I saw the football program up close. I thought the stadium was nice and all the stuff they built recently is really good."
All that said, the Pack might have its work cut out. With offers from schools like Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State, Wilson isn't exactly flying under the radar.
"You could say the three schools I'm looking at the hardest are Michigan, Ohio State and Florida. There are other schools, like NC State, that I'm looking at, but right now those three are probably a little ahead of the others."
Last year for Montour, Wilson had 137 carries for 950 yards, as well as 70 tackles on defense. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. Because of his versatility, Wilson is getting different feedback from coaches when it comes to what position he will play at the next level.
"It really just depends on who you talk to," said Wilson. "I'm sure some schools would want to put me on defense. Ohio State has told me they'd just bring me in as an athlete and then go from there. Florida and Michigan said they want to use me as an H-Back. I think NC State would just wait and see at this point."
Wilson said he is in no hurry to make a decision but would like to make an official announcement before the start of his senior season. If that does not happen it is likely he would wait until after the season before making his decision.
