Hall of Fame coach Kay Yow, who has been the head coach of the Wolfpack Women for 32 years, received an extension through 2012. She currently ranks fifth in the Division I ranks in total wins with a 708- 324 career record, 651-305 at NC State. She has directed her Wolfpack squads to 21 20-win seasons, including a 25-10 mark for 2006- 07, 20 NCAA Tournaments, 11 Sweet Sixteen Appearances and one Final Four.
Men's coach Sidney Lowe, who came back to NC State in May of 2006, received a one- year extension after leading his first Wolfpack team to 20 wins, the quarterfinals of the NIT and wins over nationally-ranked North Carolina and Duke. Lowe was just the fourth coach in Wolfpack history to gain at least 20 wins in his first season as head coach.
