Lineman Looking for More Pack Interest

DL/OL Bobbie Massie was a standout at this past weekend's Scout combine. He tells Pack Pride that he's hoping for more interest from NC State.

DT/OL Bobbie Massie from Lynchburg (Va) Christian Academy appeared to be a fairly high priority for the previous NC State coaching staff but hasn't received quite as much interest from coach O'Brien and company.

"State is a good program and they've had a great defensive line program over the last several years," said Massie. "I'd really like to be able to play defensive line. They're high on my list and I like them but since the new coach came in, I haven't been getting as much mail from them. I used to get 10 or 11 letters a week but now I get one or two every two weeks. I'd like to get more interest from them."

At 6-6 ½, 327 pounds, Massie ran a solid 5.29-second 40-yard dash this past weekend at the Combine held in Charlotte, NC. While he's not landed any division one offers yet, one hurdle may be academics. Regardless, numerous schools have stopped by his school to show their interest.

"Virginia, Virginia Tech, UNC, NC State, Georgia, Boston College, West Virginia and Nebraska are the ones I can remember stopping by the school," said Massie. "Liberty has offered me and Penn State and Georgia are waiting to see how my grades are this semester and they might end up offering. I think a lot of teams want to see how my grades are."

For now, Massie listed a top five of Georgia, Virginia Tech, UNC, Penn State and West Virgina.
