Whether it was aggressive drives to the basket or offensive putbacks, Leslie stayed active throughout the weekend. His productivity may have been surprising, given the fact that he just recently joined D-One Sports.
"We're just starting to get in the flow," said Leslie. "Everything is coming together because we're just now putting together our team. We should be pretty good real soon.
"I just need to keep hustling and playing hard, even when I'm not playing good. I need to do that and stay up all game."
A member of the heralded 2010 in-state class, Leslie is a combo forward who is already 6-foot-8 and nearly 200 pounds. His body is still maturing and filling out, but he is already very skilled with the basketball. He has solid footwork in the post, already has a couple of go-to post moves, and he hits the boards with a purpose.
Leslie spent last season at Holly Springs (NC) High School, but he may be playing his sophomore season in Raleigh at Word of God Academy where John Wall also preps.
"I think that will be a better fit for me academic-wise," said Leslie. "I think it will help prepare me better for college."
College programs are already tracking Leslie's progress. He was a frequent visitor at NC State games this year, and he has already visited another in-state school.
"I've been down to Wake Forest, and I was suppose to go over to Carolina," Leslie stated. "I've been to almost all of NC State's games."
Although it is early, Leslie admits that he has a favorite.
"It's NC State," he said. "They show me love down there. I like Carolina too. I've talked with Steve Robinson a couple of times from Carolina."
What does he like about the Wolfpack?
"It's just how much love they show me," Leslie said. "That's what it is all about for me. I feel like I'm a part of the family there right now.
"Coach Lowe... he's the man. He's just telling me to stay with it. He's told me to be strong and do my schoolwork because that comes first. He said that comes first and then basketball. He said they consider me a part of the family. I'm loving the Pack."
