NC State signee Tracy Smith will represent Team USA in the 21st Annual Nike Junior World Championships held in Douai, France.

Smith will be joined on the 19-under team by prep standouts such as Jordan Hamilton, Laron Dendy, and Toby Veal among others.

Smith, a 6-foot-8 combo forward, averaged 24 points and seven boards as a senior for Durham (NC) Mt. Zion Christian Academy. A four-star prospect, Smith was rated the No. 70 senior in the country by Scout.com. Mt. Zion head coach Antonio Fozard believes his star player has what it takes to succeed at the next level.

"Tracy is a really good player," said coach Fozard. "Scoring... he's a good scorer. I think he'll fit in well to be honest with you. He still has some things to work on, he's got to get stronger, that's one thing in particular. Other than that I think he will fit in just perfectly."

Smith inked with NC State over offers from Oklahoma State, USC, and Memphis among others.

The 21st Annual Nike Junior World Championships kickoff June 6th and will conclude on June 10th with the championship game. Team USA has won the past two tournaments and will be looking to three-peat in 2007.
