Leslie to NC State

Holly Springs rising sophomore C.J. Leslie is already off the board. The 6-foot-7 forward is going to stay in-state.

The North Carolina State Wolfpack is on the board very early. On Friday night, Sidney Lowe's program accepted a verbal commitment from a member of the Class of 2010.

C.J. Leslie, a 6-foot-7 power forward out of Holly Springs (N.C.) High, committed to the Pack. "I'm here now for a team camp and we went into the office and talked," Leslie said. "They had been offered but it just felt right."

Leslie, one of the top in-state prospects, turned in a strong week at the Hoop Jamboree in the middle of June. He's no stranger to Raleigh as he was a frequent visitor to Pack games this year. "I went to all their games except for two," Leslie said.

The homegrown product is an athletic power forward that has the ability to maneuver inside and on the perimeter. Listed as a combo forward, Leslie was enticed by the Pack's style.

"I'm a big man and I can handle the ball a little," Leslie said. "What I really wanted to do was to go a good ACC college close to home. Coach Lowe said that I could do it in the system. He's got Brandon Costner and he lets him shoot outside and I thought it would be a good fit."
