Commit Highlights: C.J. Leslie

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Holly Springs (NC) forward C.J. Leslie verbaled to NC State while at the Wolfpack's camp this past weekend. Here's your chance to catch the latest Wolfpack commitment in action!

Name: C.J. Leslie
Hometown: Holly Springs, North Carolina
High School: Holly Springs High School
Position: Forward
Vitals: 6'8/195

Notes: C.J. Leslie has been suiting up for D-One Sports on the AAU Circuit, but he was with his high school team, Holly Springs, when he verbaled to the Wolfpack.

One of the top in-state prospects, Leslie turned in a strong week at the Hoop Jamboree in the middle of June. He's no stranger to Raleigh as he was a frequent visitor to Pack games this year. "I went to all their games except for two," Leslie said.

The homegrown product is an athletic power forward that has the ability to maneuver inside and on the perimeter. Listed as a combo forward, Leslie was enticed by the Pack's style.

"I'm a big man and I can handle the ball a little," Leslie said. "What I really wanted to do was to go a good ACC college close to home. Coach Lowe said that I could do it in the system. He's got Brandon Costner and he lets him shoot outside and I thought it would be a good fit."

C.J. Leslie is NC State's first commitment in the 2010 class.

Scouting Report: A member of the heralded 2010 in-state class, Leslie is a combo forward who is already 6-foot-8 and nearly 200 pounds. His body is still maturing and filling out, but he is already very skilled with the basketball. He has solid footwork in the post, already has a couple of go-to post moves, and he hits the boards with a purpose.

He needs to work on strength, conditioning, and controlling his emotions, but Leslie has major upside. He is considered one of the top players in the state, regardless of class.
