C.J. Wilson from Lincolnton (NC) High School has picked up his first scholarship offer and he's been busy on the camp circuit with the hopes of picking up several more.
This past week, Wilson was at NC State for the Wolfpack's camp. The 5-11, 170 pound athlete who has been timed as low as 4.4-seconds in the 40-yard dash came away impressed.
"The camp was really nice," he said. "The expected a lot out of you and if you messed up, they were quick to correct your mistakes and I liked that.
"They worked me out at wide receiver and cornerback. When I got there they called me out to the game field. All in all it was a great experience."
With camps at UNC and NC State behind him, Wilson will be at Maryland this week for camp as the Terps have already extended him an offer. He'll then head to Georgia Tech in July. For now, Wilson said he's not naming favorites as he's keeping all his options open.
"I don't really have any individual favorites," said Wilson. "I'm pretty much just looking to see what schools offer me and those are the ones I'll be considering. I'm planning on riding my recruiting out for a while so I can see what I can get. But when the time is right, I'll pick a school."
Wilson rushed for 1,300 yards and had 500 yards receiving as a junior. During his sophomore year, he totaled 2,300 all-purpose yards and 33 touchdowns.
