NC State hosted 4-star LB Terrell Manning from Scotland County High School (Laurinburg, NC) on Tuesday. Manning's mother, father and uncle also made the trip as the Pack has solidified itself as one of the rising senior's top schools.
Manning worked out Tuesday morning and had some heated battles with Georgia commit and NC State prospect, Dwayne Allen. Tuesday afternoon, Manning spent most of his time observing players running their 40-yard dashes before departing State for a 7 on 7 tournament at Harnett Central.
"I really had a good visit at State," he said. "There's a lot of excitement around the program right now and you can't help but notice it. All the coaches here are great and it's a nice situation."
Manning said he had also taken notice of the Wolfpack's recent run of in-state commitments.
"State's been getting a lot of good guys," he said. "They're putting together a solid class so far."
Despite rumblings of a possible commitment to NC State, Manning maintained the same top five that he's listed for several weeks.
"It's still NC State, Virginia Tech, UNC, Clemson and Florida," he said. "I guess you could say everyone's even. I think I'll probably make a decision within a month."
