Scotland County star linebacker Terrell Manning committed to NC State today during a press conference at his high school.

"I, Terrell Manning, will be attending NC State," Manning said.

A consensus top-2 player in the state of North Carolina, Manning is rated the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina by Scout.com. The network has also tabbed Manning a four-star prospect, the nation's No. 6 weakside linebacker prospect, and the No. 85 player overall in the class of 2008.

Manning made his mark last year as a junior at Scotland County, as he tallied 130 tackles, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries to earn all-conference and all-region honors.

Manning received offers from NC State, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Clemson, and Florida among others, but he narrowed his list to the Wolfpack, Tigers and Volunteers this past month after attending camps at all three schools.

Today he announced that he will be a member of the NC State Wolfpack.

He is NC State's ninth known commitment in the 2008 class, joining William Beasley, Mike Glennon, Earl Wolff, Brandon Barnes, T.J. Graham, Dwayne Maddox, Mario Carter, and Tobias Palmer.
