10/24 UPDATE: Pack Commits - Season Tracker

The football season is here and NC State has 12 commitments with 11 who will be on the field this fall for their respective teams. Pack Pride has all the stats for you as this tracker will be updated throughout the season!

OL Zach Allen

Zach Allen
Hometown: Tifton, Georgia

High School: Tift County High School

Team Colors: Blue and White

Conference: 5A

Vitals: 6-3/300/4.98

Rating: 2-star prospect

Allen Notes: At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, Allen is an above-average athlete. He's been timed at 4.98 in the 40-yard dash, benches 365 pounds, and he has maxed out at 625-pounds squatting and 335 pounds on the power clean.

"Zach is a real physical and just very athletic," said Tift County head coach Jay Walls. "He really has all the tools that you look for in a lineman. He has great feet. We run a lot of screens and he does a good job of getting out front and maintaining his blocks for our backs... that isn't an easy thing to do.

"Another thing with Zach is he is still growing. He will turn 17 this fall... he's just 16 years old."

Allen was recruited by linebackers coach Andy McCollum. He also had scholarship offers offers from Troy, South Florida, UAB and Middle Tennessee State before verbaling to NC State.

Maddox plays in the middle and is at his best when things come to him. He defeats blocks and goes and gets the ball. He fills the hole tremendously well and is super quick in getting through the gap to get to the ball carrier. Maddox is a big hitter that plays until the whistle blows. OL Andrew Wallace

Andrew Wallace
Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

High School: Olympic High School

Team Colors: Red and White

Conference: 3A - Queen City Conference

Vitals: 6-5/260/4.78

Rating: 3-star prospect

Wallace Notes: No player in the state saw his stock rise more this spring and summer than Wallace. In late March he attended the Shrine Bowl combine with no offers but peformed well. Following that performance, Wallace attended the Scout.com combine and was even better. Measuring in at 6-5 and 260 pounds, Wallace ran an impressive 4.76-second 40-yard dash, had a 25-inch vertical jump and 4.79-second short shuttle.

After sending out junior film, Wallace secured early offers from Miami, Illinois, Maryland, and Buffalo with the Hurricane offer coming as a surprise but proving he was a legitimate big-time prospect.

"Andrew Wallace seemed to come out of nowhere with an offer from Miami in early May and his recruitment simply took off from there," said Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Miller Safrit. "After posting an incredible 4.76 forty time at the Scout.com Combine many schools started to take a look at Wallace in person through camps and he did not dissappoint with several new offers.

"Watching his film, Wallace is a very fluid offensive tackle playing on the right side of the ball in high school, and I think he's a right tackle all the way. He plays with good leverage and has a nice step off the ball in pass protection and does not overextend himself."

ATH Earl Wolff

Earl Wolff
Hometown: Raeford, North Carolina

High School: Hoke County High School

Team Colors: Red, White, and Black

Conference: 4A - Mid-Southeastern Conference

Vitals: 6-0/190/4.45

Rating: 2-star prospect

Video: Earl Wolff Highlights

Wolff Notes: At 6-foot and 190 pounds, Wolff mainly played free safety for Hoke County in 2006, where he tallied six interceptions and returned three for touchdowns to earn first-team all-conference honors.

Look for Hoke County head coach Greg Bryant to take advantage of his talents and play him all over the field, including at tailback, in 2007.

"Earl is very explosive," said coach Bryant. "Anytime he can break a long run, and he is always making great plays on defense. He really flew under the radar.

"He had a good season for us as a junior, and I think he can be even better this year. He plays free safety for us, and he was one of our better running backs, but we did have a senior who was a pretty good running back and he ended up at Western Carolina after being our conference's Offensive Player of the Year.

"Earl returned kickoffs for us and played on a lot of special teams... he did it all, and he's going to do more of the same this year."
