Commit Highlights: Andrew Wallace

Charlotte (NC) Olympic lineman Andrew Wallace verbaled to NC State after considering a host of offers. Here's your chance to catch the recent Wolfpack commitment in action in these exclusive highlights!

Name: Andrew Wallace
Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina
High School: Olympic High School
Position: Offensive Lineman
Vitals: 6'5/260/4.78

Notes: No player in the state saw his stock rise more this spring and summer than Andrew Wallace. In late March he attended the Shrine Bowl combine with no offers but peformed well. Following that performance, Wallace attended the Scout.com combine and was even better. Measuring in at 6-5 and 260 pounds, Wallace ran an impressive 4.76-second 40-yard dash, had a 25-inch vertical jump and 4.79-second short shuttle.

After sending out junior film, Wallace secured early offers from Miami, Illinois, Maryland, and Buffalo with the Hurricane offer coming as a surprise but proving he was a legitimate big-time prospect.

"That was a big time offer," said Wallace. "I was totally shocked. They came by the school and left the offer there. I had a chance to talk to coach Barrow later so I was pretty excited."

A three-star prospect, he is considered one of the state of North Carolina's top offensive line prospects. Boasting offers from Tennessee, Miami, NC State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Maryland, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Buffalo, Marshall, and Illinois, he recently narrowed his list to the Wolfpack and Volunteers.

Wallace, who grew up a NC State fan, decided to attend the in-state school.

"I chose State because its the place to be," said Wallace. "The recruiting class is great. We got Mike [Glennon], T.J. [Graham], Terrell [Manning]. I believe that with the great players and the coaching staff, coach O'Brien can lead State to a championship."

Scouting Report: "Andrew Wallace seemed to come out of nowhere with an offer from Miami in early May and his recruitment simply took off from there. After posting an incredible 4.76 forty time at the Scout.com Combine many schools started to take a look at Wallace in person through camps and he did not dissappoint with several new offers.

"Watching his film, Wallace is a very fluid offensive tackle playing on the right side of the ball in high school, and I think he's a right tackle all the way. He plays with good leverage and has a nice step off the ball in pass protection and does not overextend himself." -- Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Miller Safrit
