Friday was another big win for us. Robinson is always a powerhouse in our area and it was one of the biggest games of the year.
The game started off slow for us as it was only 7-7 going into the 2nd quarter. In the second quarter with about five minutes left I threw a touchdown. Then our defense got an interception and ran it back for another touchdown. Then we drove again and scored with about a minute remaining in the half. We called for a pooch kick and recovered it on about the 35-yard line. The first play after the kick we threw a double pass wide open into the endzone for another score. So in about five minutes of play we scored 28 unanswered points. That was what we needed.
The game finished off 38-7. I was 14-19 for about 165 yards with two touchdowns passing and another rushing. I was also picked off for the first time of the year, something I pride myself on. The ball was tipped by a defensive lineman, but it was still an interception.
I felt that I played very well in the game. I feel like I only threw one bad pass the whole night. That's where I need to be, making very few physical mistakes, but zero mental mistakes in every game.
I texted Deion when I found out he was going to the State game, and he said he had a good time. I'm hoping we can pull him. I'm excited to watch the game against Florida State this weekend. I'm going to have to give E.J. Manuel a call and let him know what the outcome of the game is going to be.
Thursday, October 4 (9:50 P.M.)
Tomorrow we play against Woodson. They are 4-1 right now and they play in a weaker conference, but if we beat them we will get a lot of power points from all of their wins, so needless to say it is a big game. I think we're going to need to pass the ball so I'm real excited about that.
Yesterday at school my phone was stolen so Coach Willis called my house and left a message, but when I called back he didn't answer.
Coach O'Brien's brother lives about 15 minutes away from me, and his daughters go to Robinson, the team we played last week. I got a letter today from coach, and he said that his brother told him that he's lucky they got me. That made me even more excited to get down there and get going for the Wolfpack.
Before my phone was stolen, E.J. [Manuel] sent me a text just asking what's up, but the first thing I texted back to him was, "I don't know how much fun going down to Florida State will be after a loss."
