We're still undefeated after beating Douglas Byrd 14-9 this past Friday. It was a game where we made a lot of mistakes, and they could have beat us. I think we played around a little too much, and they kept it a tight game. The big plays came rigt the beginning. Adrian Jones returned the kickoff back for a touchdown for us, and they scored on the next series after we had a busted coverage. After that, the game basically settled down.

Byrd had a guy I had heard was going to Carolina but that ended up not being right. I think he's just visiting them... he's being recruited as a defensive back but he was their quarterback against us. He was alright. He was real quick... a little cocky, but he was quick.

"They could have beat us."

Saturday I didn't get to do too much. I was a little sick on Friday but still played... then Saturday I just stayed home and watched some football games. State started out pretty good against Florida State. They were doing everything needed to win, and it just came down to the end. They made a few mistakes, and they paid for them.

I saw where Andre Brown got hurt in that game and it looks like he is out for the year too, just like Toney. I don't know if he can still get a redshirt, but if he can then we're going to have some really good running backs for a long time. That's a blessing in disguise if he can.

After I watched State play I ended up watching the Florida-LSU game. That was a game I thought Florida should have won, but they ended getting beat at the end.

Practice has been going pretty good for us. The defense is really pumped up about this week because we have 71st and they are going to try to run the ball right at us. That's one thing we dont think teams can do against us. We're pumped up and ready to play.

A few minutes ago I talked with coach Tom O'Brien. He was doing the one phone call for this week. We talked a while... he was just checking in to see how everything was going with me. Coach was explaining the mistakes they made in the Florida State game, and he wanted to make sure everything was still strong with me. I told him I'm not going anywhere. That is the last thing he's got to worry about. It's all family in talking with him.

That's another thing I like about State. It doens't matter which coach I talk to I can tell they actually care about me. They don't only want to talk about just me and how I'm doing. The coaches always ask about my family to make sure everything else is okay with them... my mom, my pops, everybody. That means a lot.
