Last night was a rough one for us against our big rival, Richmond County. Our defense... I thought we played great. Offensively we played well because we moved the ball, but we had five turnovers which ended up costing us the game. We dominated Richmond every way possible but we lost 30-27 to them in overtime. The defense only gave up like nine points but the offense ended up giving up 21 points because they returned three turnovers for touchdowns.

"I didn't feel like
I played my best."

I was still confident even when we went into overtime because we had been stopping them all night. Our defense came out and held them to a field goal. We felt like we would either go to double-overtime or win it right there but another interception sealed it for them.

Everybody that saw me after the game said I played great, but I didn't feel like I played my best. Everyone else still said I did, but it doesn't matter because we lost.

My recruiting coach from State, coach Jim Bridge, he came down and watched the game. I said hey to him before the game, but once the game starts you forget about the people around you. It's just like any other football game.

We just got to bounce back next week. It's tough having our first loss, but we just have to bounce back.

Tuesday, October 23 -- 9:30 p.m.
I actually talked with coach Bridge earlier, and he said he enjoyed watching me play last Friday night. He said he liked how I run around the field and make plays. He's really excited about me getting up there and helping State out, and I think he likes a few other guys on our team.

We've got to bounce back this week, and we play Mr. Earl Wolff and Hoke County. I've been watching their film, and they've got some crazy sets and Earl is a good athlete. After the game I'm going to go up and talk to him because he's my main man, but until then it's all business. We have to win that game. I'm declaring victory right now because my team is mad.

"He's my main man."

I got to watch State play this weekend and now that was a great game. They ended up beating East Carolina, and I'm jacked up about that. I really didn't know what to expect. I think State can beat anybody if they come out and play well and don't have a lot of turnovers. The turnovers have just been killing them. They did that against ECU and won that game easily.

I'm glad they won because I have a couple of coaches who are big-time ECU fans and they were talking junk... joking around with me last week. They were just saying how the Pack was going to go down there and lose. On Monday, I went into the locker room and just started howling! They knew exactly what I was talking about.

I think a big key for them has been their defense is playing a lot better now. Martrel [Brown] stepped up and played ball the way he should be playing. One guy that really has stood out to me is [Alan-Michael] Cash. I've been watching him a lot, and he's a player. He's real good. One thing a lot of coaches from other schools would say to me is State may not have a good defensive line in front of me when I get there, but I've been watching. They are starting to turn it on up there on the d-line.

No colleges have really still been recruiting me though. I had one school send a message wanting me to go up to one of their games, but I stayed right here at my house. I'm sure I'm solid. I'm Wolfpack bound.

I'm definitely going to be up in Raleigh for State's game this week. It seems like it's been a while since they've had a home game, so you know I'm going to be up there.
