Laurinburg (NC) Scotland County and NC State commitment Terrell Manning is doing a weekly diary for Pack Pride.com that will focus on his senior season. In Manning's latest entry he discusses his final home game, NC State's victory over Miami, and much more!

Our game on Friday against Jack Britt was crazy. It was one of those games where we came out excited and jumped on them early. We led 13-0 and were cruising at halftime, but they came back and won the game on two late touchdowns... they ended up beating us 14-13 in what looks like is going to be my last home game at Scotland.
We were playing without Adrian [Jones] and Damonte [Terry], and we ended up losing our starting tight end that game too. That was all a big blow, but we still lost. For the playoffs we're going to get Damonte back, but we won't have Adrian or Donte for the rest of the year. We're just going to have to make it work and win games.

We start the playoffs with a game at West Mecklenburg. I've seen them on film and they have an athletic running back. They also have a tall wideout who runs good routes, so we will have to stop him too. I'm confident in my team though... I think we can take them.
We've got to do whatever we can to keep winning games the rest of the way. Losing to Richmond and Jack Britt hurts because we really thought we'd be playing at least one playoff game at home. I think we're in the bracket with a lot of good teams so most of our games will probably be on the road. We have to buckle down and win games because now it is win or go home.
I got to watch State play against Miami, and I'm so excited right now it doesn't make any sense. I was real pumped up about them getting that win. I know State made a few mistakes, but they capitalized on all of Miami's mistakes and won a big game. Imagine what happens when State really start playing their best football. There is no telling how many games they can win once they start playing their best.
I already knew State had a great coaching staff... that was one of the main reasons I chose them, and now the confidence of the players has to be real high. They've got some real good young players like [Alan-Michael] Cash at defensive tackle. He's a playmaker. Then [Willie] Young, he looks small out there but he plays so big. There's something about him. He's got that drive where he doesn't give up on any play. Both of them are real young, so I'm real excited to be going in and playing with guys like that. That is one thing other colleges tried to say about State was that they wouldn't have a good defensive line when I went in there. They are proving that wrong. It makes me feel even more confident about my decision. I know the future for NC State is on the rise.
Tuesday, November 6 -- 9:50 p.m.
Man, this is the big weekend for State, and I'll be there for sure. This is the big one. It's the big rivalry game... people down here are already talking about it. We have a bunch of [North] Carolina fans at my school, and they keep talking about how State is going to lose. I'm just telling them don't be surprised when State pulls it out because they are on a big winning streak. I know Carolina has a pretty good offense, but I can see State's defense putting a stop to that.

I hear this is going to be a big recruiting weekend for State. For some reason I have a good feeling we're going to get one more commitment from somebody here real soon. I'm not completely sure, but I think we can get one more after this game.
I'm committed so the game won't have an impact for me, but even if I wasn't I don't think it would have played much of a factor in my decision. It's just a big rivalry game, and trust me I know that anything can happen in rivalry games. I just want to see a good game. I hope State wins, but it wouldn't change my decision if they didn't. If I wanted to go to a program that was always winning, I could have done that, but I chose to go to the school where I could help build something. That's why I chose State, and that's not changing.
I still don't know yet if I'll be able to graduate early or not. At first I didn't think I would be able to, but right now I've got to see how I do in these classes. If I can do real well and maybe take the SAT one more time, I'll have a shot. I've got a lot of work in these classes to get done early, and it's a slim chance, but there is still a chance I can enroll early. I think I'll know more on it in a few weeks.
