Darrell Blackman update

TSW had a follow-up interview with Pennsylvania running back Darrell Blackman. It appears NC State is still holding their recruiting ground in their effort to land the Williamsport star.

Darrell Blackman is churning up the yards for Williamsport Senior High. His team currently sits with a 7-0 record and a top 5 ranking, while he has amassed 1759 yards and 20 touchdowns. Colleges up and down the Atlantic Coast and from the heartland have taken notice. He currently has plans on visiting Maryland, Iowa, Michigan State and NC State. The only date he has set for sure is his trip to Raleigh which is scheduled for December 6th.

In our last interview with Darrell, he named NC State as the leader with Maryland not too far behind. It appears NC State has not given ground in their position to land the talented running back. "NC State still leads by a little over Maryland. I hope to take trips to Michigan State and Iowa. I have not decided on the fifth visit."

We asked Blackman what he liked about NC State and Maryland:

  • Maryland: "The coaches are real nice. I have been down on a couple of unofficial visits. They are having a good year. Coach James Franklin is recruiting me."
  • NC State: "The program is on the up and up. They are 7-0 and are a program on the rise. The coaches are real nice and I can see myself playing for them. Coach Cignetti is recruiting me, but I have talked to Coach Amato a couple times too."

We also asked Darrell if he would like to attend the same school with his current Williamsport teammate, Raymond Brooks. "We want to go to the same school. We plan on taking some of our visits together."

NC State is looking at the Pennsylvania star as a future running back. "Coaches tell me if I come in and do what I'm doing now and work hard, I have a possibility of playing the first year at running back."

Raymond has a following and we asked him if he wanted to tell his fans anything. "Just tell them to keep supporting me. I will tell them where I will be going after my season and my visits
