"I committed to State last night," said Jones. "The coaches were really excited. They just said for me to keep doing what I'm doing at Hargrave because they are ready to get me down there."
Jones, who played his high school football at Fuquay-Varina (NC) High, originally committed to NC State last year but had to attend Hargrave after failing to qualify. He enrolled a sleeper recruit and emerged as a four-star prospect who continued to earn scholarship offers.
With offers from NC State, Florida State, Kent State, Akron, Marshall, UTEP, and East Carolina, Jones had options and was expecting to secure even more after Hargrave's upcoming combine. However he maintains that he is now done with recruiting.
"I'm done," said Jones. "I'm not taking anymore visits. I'm happy to be back with NC State. The trip was great."
Jones is a big-time prospect with potential you don't find in many offensive linemen. He has all the athleticism and size you look for, and he is also a high-character kid. Jones is the Wolfpack's third offensive line commitment, joining Andrew Wallace and Zach Allen.
Pack Pride will have more from Jones in the near future so stay tuned!
